"The Healy Story" was written by Julia Rooney, and completed in 1983. The book traces the story of Michael Healy and Mary Rahaley, and their only son John and his wife Julia. It consisted of written text, family records, birth certificates, wills, photos and other documents that help trace our history.

In moving the book to this web site, I've tried to be as true to the original format as possible. The text is transcribed exactly as it was written, with memories by Julia Rooney. I've included some photos with the text, but you will also find that we've put many pictures and documents into a photo gallery.

You can access the photo galleries by clicking on the thumbnail photos to the right of the story. I have replaced the family record pages with links back to our genealogical database, the contents of which were created using this book. (And I've maintained the family records beyond 1983 as well as possible for the John and Katherine Healy line; others are welcome.) Note that I've used married names to link back to genealogical records, to be more recognizable to the family.

This story is well over 20 years old, and the text ends with Uncle Peter. Beyond that, the book consisted of family records and photos. It is our intend to expand the photo gallery and continue the story.
